INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGIST SPECIALIZING IN HYPERTENSION, SYNCOPE, HYPERCHOLESTEROLEMIA, VALVULAR DISEASE, CORONARY AND PERIPHERAL ARTERY DISEASE, CHRONIC VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY, AND VENOUS COMPRESSION

EDUCATION & BACKGROUND

  • Dr. Naidu was born in Baden, Switzerland and moved to the US at the age of 2. He grew up in Chicago where he got his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago.
  • His medical degree is from New York Medical College, and he did post-graduate training at the New England Medical Center in Boston.
  • His medical residency and cardiology fellowship was completed in 2003 at St. Vincent Medical Center of New York.
  • He moved to the Shoals in 2008 and opened his own practice, Cardiovascular Institute of the Shoals in 2011.
  • He started the Shoals area’s first outpatient cath lab inside his office in September 2017.
  • Dr. Naidu currently resides in Florence, AL with his wife and 2 children.

ACCOLADES

  • Dr Naidu was the first physician in this area to bring radial artery catheterization to his practice. At the time this technique was in infancy for this area, but Dr. Naidu’s training at the Cardiovascular Institute of the South allowed him to bring this innovation to the Shoals area.
  • He is the winner of the 2016 Renaissance Award for Science and Medicine (NOALA magazine)
  • He is the founder of the Joseph Naidu foundation, a local non-profit organization that organizes free health screenings for the citizens of our community who otherwise could not afford to see a doctor.
  • Dr. Naidu is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Fellowship of the American College of Physicians (FACP), a diplomat for nuclear cardiology, and a member of the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • He has multiple publications on various topics such as: Pediatric Neuropsychiatry, Laboratory and Clinical Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, and Venous Disease
  • He has given multiple lectures on Heart & Vascular Disease.
  • Dr. Naidu’s practice has been recognized as a training facility for other physicians to learn his methods of venous and arterial stenting.
